The CommScope family of integrated cabinets is being expanded under Andrew Wireless Solutions with versions that address the requirements of wireless operators around the world.
The cabinets are environmentally controlled enclosures that protect equipment at a mobile site or remote installation. The range protects radio, power, amplifier and battery electronics.
The latest additions are the EcoPower cabinet and the RBA84 series cabinet.
EcoPower provides DC backup power for wireless and wireline networks, with a design that is modular and flexible. The cabinet’s proton exchange membrane hydrogen fuel cells, housed in a secure, weather-resistant cabinet for outdoor deployment, offer a smaller footprint and more dense power backup than has been available before.
The EcoPower cabinet, at 1600 high x 1140 wide x 1300 mm deep, is claimed to be the most compact integrated fuel cell system available, providing up to 16 kW in a single cabinet.
With power supplied by two 8 kW fuel cells, the cabinet is cooled without the use of outside air in a seealed compartment to keep out dust, contaminants and condensation.
The series cabinet has been designed for the needs of wireless operators and original equipment manufacturers.
Its flexible configuration enables it to accept radio, power and battery equipment from various OEMs.
The series also has configurable cooling options, ranging from air conditioning to hydrophobic or mesh filter air cooling. It also uses variable speed fans to minimise the acoustic signature.
