Radiometrix has introduced an addition to its LMT2/LMR2 transmitter/receiver series. Making use of the 458.525-459.1 MHz British frequency band (instead of the 433.875-434.650 MHz EU band used in previous versions), these higher power modules increase the distance over which they can communicate to 1 km, allowing engineers to enhance systems that previously had insufficient range (or insufficient link margin).
The device provides a power efficient (current consumption of 20 mA for the receiver and 35 mA (10 W)/95 mA (100 W) for the transmitter) and 5 Kbps, 32-channel narrow band data link. It has a receiver sensitivity of -118 dBm and a transmit power of +20 dBm (100 mW). The modules making up the transmitter/receiver pair conform fully to both the EN 300 220-3 and EN 301 489-3 standards. As well as operating in the 458 MHz band, they can also be used in the 448 MHz Czech band (as well as other bands).
