M2M Connectivity is now Australian and New Zealand distributor for Quake Global’s range of satellite modems. Quake is a manufacturer of satellite modems for the Orbcomm and Iridium satellite networks and will soon launch its own series of Globalstar Simplex products.

M2M will supply a range of Orbcomm modems, including the Q1000. This device is also available offering integrated satellite-based communication capabilities with full RF/EMI protection designed to ensure operation in remote and severe environments.

For Iridium, M2M has the Q9612 satellite transceiver, designed to optimise two-way data links. The module has 9-18 V power conditioning, can be installed directly onto a 12 V vehicle and is interfaced with an RS-232 serial port.

The modem is programmable through an AT command set interface. The transceiver is suitable for applications in almost every part of the globe.

There is also the Q9601 - a smaller, lighter unit drawing less power. It is designed as an OEM module for integration into applications that only use the Iridium short burst data service, supported through an RS232 interface.
