Quectel SG368Z Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 smart module series

Quectel Wireless Solutions has released the SG368Z — a Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 smart module series for industrial and consumer applications requiring a high level of automation, high data rates and multimedia functions. It is available in multi-region variants with global certifications.

The series is based on the RockChip RK3568 system-on-chip (SoC) and powered by ARM’s high performance quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU and ARM Mali-G52 GPU. It offers a number of peripheral interfaces including HDMI, LVDS, RGB, MIPI and eDP for video output, enabling triple-screen functionality to display content simultaneously or independently.

With 8M image signal processing (ISP) and high dynamic range (HDR), the module supports 4K @ 60 fps video decoding and 1080p @ 60 fps encoding. With a 1 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU), it is suitable for applications that require video functionality.

Featuring an LGA package with a size of 46 x 42 x 3.15 mm, the module offers dual 1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, SATA interfaces (multiplexed from other interfaces), numerous industrial UARTs, four USB 2.0/3.0 ports and two PCIe interfaces, among others. Furthermore, it supports a range of operating systems including Linux, Android and OpenWrt, along with QT components.

The product seamlessly integrates with Quectel function modules such as LTE Cat 1/4, 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and GNSS. This broad compatibility enables its application across various M2M industries and makes it useful for IoT gateways, smart commercial displays, industrial device terminals, smart hospitals, vehicle centre consoles and automotive NVRs.

Quectel’s IoT modules are developed with security at the core, mitigating potential vulnerabilities with third-party independent test houses and incorporating security practices like generating SBOMs and VEX files as well as performing firmware binary analysis into the entire software development life cycle.
