CRS Accessories has available the Wintec WGT-168 GPS microphone that integrates smart GPS features and transmits data through two-way communications.
The device provides group communications for rescue teams, police, MFS, CFS, SES, fleet management, hunting, hiking and extreme sports.
The microphone can be used as a traditional stand-alone GPS unit or be connected to a two-way radio and be capable of transmitting location, text messages, tracking information, etc, over any radio network.
Field users can locate group members’ positions, track, receive and send text messages with no additional equipment.
Integrated with Google Earth, Kmz, Gpx navigational/mapping software, the group configurations are unlimited.
The device is fitted with a mandown/SOS feature that, when activated, will continuously transmits the user’s GPS coordinates at pre-determined intervals. If used in conjunction with the lone worker feature (which is now standard in many two-way radios), it will provide an invaluable safety mechanism for staff working unsupervised.
