The DIR-855 is a simultaneous dual band draft 802.11n wireless router designed to enable Wi-Fi networks running multiple devices.

The router allows organisations to send emails and share files while simultaneously streaming high-definition (HD) media over the wireless network.

It simultaneously uses two radio bands, combined with a standard-based gigabit switch, a hardware firewall and a QoS engine. The device is compliant with the 802.11n wireless networking draft that offers faster speeds and farther range than 802.11g, while maintaining backward compatibility with 802.11g devices. The router also offers support for wireless security including WEP, WPA and WPA2 standards to protect the wireless network. To prevent attacks from the internet, the device features dual active firewalls (SPI, NAT).
