The RFS6000 is a multicore processor-based wireless LAN switch, targeted at mid-sized enterprises. The device supports up to 48 802.11a/b/g/n access points and is capable of providing Wi-Fi coverage for up to 2000 users.

It eliminates the need to run separate voice and data cables to each user within the enterprise, potentially leading to cost savings. With eight PoE ports for 802.11n, the switch also includes a PCI express slot for wireless WAN backhaul 3G/4G services such as EVDO, HSDPA and WiMAX, as well as a PCI expansion slot for services such as IP PBX.

Also included is support for WPA/WPA2 security, stateful inspection firewall, VPN, AAA server and NAC support.
