The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has held a one-day spectrum tune-up with a focus on the 2.5 GHz band.

The fourth spectrum tune-up focused on major 2.5 GHz spectrum issues identified in its discussion paper, including spectrum for long-term evolution services, electronic news gathering use and alternative ENG bands.

The morning session covered industry perspectives and regulatory technical planning issues. The afternoon session looked at allocation issues, new ENG bands, LTE technologies and sharing options and included the perspective of broadcasters on current 2.5 GHz plans.

The day featured presentations from key ACMA staff involved with particular spectrum projects, as well as industry speakers.
