Aeroflex PXI 3030 CDMA2000/1xEV-DO measurement suite updated

The PXI 3030 CDMA2000/1xEV-DO measurement suite is now claimed to support Revision B (Rev B) of the standard for production testing of mobile terminals.

The upgrade extends the capabilities of the 3000 series test system to include fast production testing of mobile handsets, components and chipsets to the new standard revision.

The series production test system with the 3030 option 102 upgrade for Rev B now performs the full range of parametric measurements on 1xEV-DO Rev B transmitters, including high-speed alignment and performance verification of devices operated in a non-signalling mode.

The high speed and throughput for RF test of Rev B mobile handsets and characterisation of RFICs reduces the cost of production testing.

Coverage of multiple mobile and wireless connectivity standards - including Bluetooth, WLAN and other standards in addition to 1xEVDO Rev B - allows full RF testing of a multimode device using a single box solution.

The modularity and software-defined functionality of the series renders the test system both flexible and future-proof. The system can be individually configured by the user as required and additional standards can be added when necessary.

Rev B of the 3GPP2 1xEV-DO standard has been designed to enable enhanced mobile broadband operation by supporting multiple carriers, allowing higher data rates when multiple RF channels are combined. 1xEV-DO Rev B maintains full compatibility with the existing Revision A in terms of channel structure.

The 1xEV-DO Rev B enables an increase in data rate by transmitting or receiving on two or three of the 1xEV-DO channels simultaneously rather than by employing a single wideband modulation.

Rev B support on the PXI 3030 offers the ability to receive the multi-carrier signal and to measure the parameters of each carrier independently, presenting separate results for each carrier.
