Fluke TL175 TwistGuard test lead range

Fluke has available the TL175 TwistGuard test leads, claimed to be the only leads with a manually adjustable test tip guard for use in changing measurement situations.

By twisting the lead, the user can change the exposed probe tip length from 4 to 19 mm. When the tip guard is fully extended, the leads are safety rated for CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V use. When the tip guard is retracted, the test leads are safety rated for CAT II 1000 V use.

The leads are also the company’s first leads with WearGuard insulation.

Each lead is covered by two layers of silicone insulation, red or black on the outside and white on the inside. If the leads become nicked or scuffed and white insulation is visible, the user has a visual warning that they should be replaced.

While the WearGuard indicator shows excessive wear, these leads are designed to last longer than any other available. The dual-layer silicone insulation resists melting if it comes in contact with hot surfaces and remains flexible in the cold. The extra heavy-duty strain relief, built into both the probe end and the plug end, has been tested beyond 30,000 bends.

The input plugs are suitable for most digital multimeters with 4 mm input jacks.

The leads also have screw threads at the base of the probe.
