PacSat Antennas has just launched its new range of 5.8GHz solid parabolic dishes. Solid dishes have a number of advantages over parabolic grids - particularly in high traffic environments:
- better front-to-back ratio (greater immunity to interference)
- more uniform and narrower beam-width
- more robust than panel-type equivalent
Despite these advantages, solid dishes are not frequently deployed at 2.4GHZ as the size required to achieve moderate gain can create unacceptable wind-loading on masts. At 5.8GHz the size of the dishes is not such an issue.
PacSat's range of solid parabolic dishes now includes 21dBi, 24dBi, 27dBi and 36dBi models. The key features of the three new models are:
- spun surface-treated & painted aluminium alloy reflector
- solid brass feed in fiberglass housing
- stainless-steel mounting hardware
- excellent front-to-back ratios
- 24 month warranty
