Two additions have been made to the Radio Frequency Systems CompactLine range of high-performance microwave antennas.

Both 300 mm diameter single-polarised antennas - the SB1-520A and the SB1-550A - were developed to fulfil specific application demands in the 50 to 60 GHz frequency range.

They provide high-capacity point-to-point applications that demand greater system gain. Designed for short-haul microwave systems, the SB1-520A supports the 51.4 to 52.6 GHz frequency band. In some European nations, such as Switzerland, it forms the backbone system for hops of under 1 km in mobile base station applications. The second of this series, the SB1-550A, is claimed to be the only antenna to cover the entire 54.25 to 59 GHz range.

Both antennas offer good side lobe suppression. They also incorporates a short shroud for a low profile, and a modified Cassegrain feed system with shaped subreflector for optimum gain and pattern performance.
