The Quintet 'global capable' telematics antenna includes a true multi-band, mixed polarity cellular antenna with an integrated active GPS patch antenna incorporated in the same housing.

The multi-band cellular component of the antenna will provide performance in all of the worldwide cellular bands including GSM800/900/1800, AMPS, DAMPS, CDMA 800, PCS1900 and even UMTS/3G systems.

The cellular element is a patented stripline fed slot radiator with patch circuits used to introduce multi-band performance. With a mix of vertical and horizontal polarisation (as is used by cell sites themselves), the antenna can be mounted at any angle and still deliver optimum performance.

The antenna provides performance superior to externally glass mounted antennas and is mounted simply inside the vehicle/asset with no external components.

The GPS element is a small ceramic patch placed at the centre of the cellular antenna and includes an active amplifier with 27-30 dB gain and noise figure of 1.0 dB (typical) to ensure rapid acquisition of multiple satellites. A separate connector serves the GPS element.

The device can be used in any telematics or GPS application, regardless of the band. Global coverage allows it to be integrated into motor vehicles or other GPS tracked assets and shipped internationally. The product can also be integrated directly into equipment in an OEM application where volumes permit.

Supplied complete with mounting instructions and pre-terminated low loss, fully shielded coaxial cables, the antenna can help reduce inventories, reduce installation costs and boost air time in just about every cellular system in the world.
