The Seaward ProTag Optima system is claimed to be the world's most compact portable appliance and RCD testing, tag printing and record keeping system.
It combines the latest handheld instrument technology and wireless communications to provide a system that weighs around 2 kg and eliminates connection cables between the appliance tester, test tag printer and bar code scanner.
The system comprises the Seaward Primetest 300 appliance and RCD tester, tag printer and BCS-blue bar code scanner. The unit carries out all the tests required under AS/NZS 3760 for appliances and leads and carries 30 mA RCD tests.
The device also operates as a handheld data logger by recording any type of test, inspection or risk assessment with user-defined inspection routines and an in-built library of measurement and engineering units.
This eliminates the need for a PDA or laptop for recording the results of non-electrical inspections and risk assessments.
Each component in the system is battery powered.
