Tyco has introduced the GPS module A1035-A, which is not just another antenna module - it incorporates a high-end GPS receiver A1029-A and adds a CANbus interface.

This makes the module especially attractive for automotive applications or in areas where position, velocity and time information needs to be transmitted over long distances.

The voltage input can range from 7 to 30 reflecting automotive requirements. Based on SiGe's RF downconverter SE4100L and STMicroelectronics' GPS processor STA2051 the module offers high sensitivity in combination with a short TTFF.

To support this a battery backup input including the according circuit is integrated.
