Twenty-five years ago, the concern in the industry was whether traditional two-way radio communications would survive the challenge of mobiles, pagers and CB; 10 years later, in the post-9/11 world of 2005, the concerns amongst emergency services agencies had become interoperability and the adoption of radio industry standards.
