Perth event to canvas latest technologies

Comms Connect Perth on 16 March will feature a line-up of Australian and international speakers and will present great opportunities for networking.

Held in conjunction with ARCIA, the series of case studies and technical presentations will be followed by drinks and ARCIA’s Western Australia industry dinner.

The venue will be the Duxton Hotel on Adelaide Terrace, right in the heart of the Perth CBD and only a short walk to the picturesque Swan River.

The organisers have arranged a comprehensive array of speakers and topics, as follows:

  • The changing landscape of Land Mobile Radio: threats and opportunities (presented by Hamish Duff, President, ARCIA)
  • Keeping the spectrum clean: ACMA activities and compliance priorities (Anton Biviano, Acting Assistant Manager, Compliance and Field Operations Section, ACMA)
  • Future of cyber warfare: protecting critical infrastructure (Dr Suresh Hungenahally, CISO and Cyber Security Lead, CommTel Network Solutions)
  • Terrorism natural disasters and lessons from Europe: how technology must support change (Matt Wroughton, BDM, Excelerate Technology)
  • DMR Tier 3: Business-critical trunk radio platform (Mel Arnott, Regional Manager, CSE Crosscom, and Hamish Duff)
  • Seamless smart city network modelling for LoRA Mesh and LTE networks (Yahya Khaled, Spectrum Engineer, ATDI)
  • Spectrum for private LTE networks: picking over the bones (Andrew May, Licensing Manager, Spectrum Engineering)
  • LTE 101: its strengths, weaknesses and application (Simon Lardner, Director, Challenge Networks)
  • Private LTE Network for Gold Fields (Rodney Nebe, IT Senior Network Engineer, Gold Fields)
  • Trends in LTE (Justin Wyatt, Titan ICT)

The conference will conclude with an open forum discussion featuring an expert panel of program participants, led by Hamish Duff.

The ARCIA industry networking dinner will follow, also at the Duxton Hotel (off-street parking is available in the Terrace Road car park). The evening will feature presentations, dinner, drinks and the announcement of the Industry Professional of the Year Award.

This promises to be a fantastic joint event, with plenty of content for those in the business- and mission-critical communications industry. Make sure you book your ticket today!
