GME BX series two-way radio

The GME BX series of handheld portables is a fully featured handheld radio, available in both the VHF (148-174 MHz) and UHF (450-520 MHz) bands and is aimed directly at security and covert applications.

Looking like a lightweight the UHF version will deliver a full 4 W transmit output.

New firmware and software means that the BX series is now suitable for new frequency bands requiring a 6.25 kHz offset.

The series offers a variety of security centric features including: a 128-channel capacity that will allow channel programming over a wide range of PMR repeater sites and locations. Typically, many in-house PMR security operations use the 450-520 MHz band so the BX series with its large channel capacity and wide frequency coverage can be programmed to accommodate all the most common job events, even if they have narrow or wide band frequency allocations; channel scanning with a dual watch mode means the user will have instant recall on a dedicated emergency-response or home channel; the high-capacity (1700 MAh) Li-Ion battery provides a long duty cycle. Both the UHF and VHF versions can be switched for low power operation (1 W), effectively doubling the operational duty cycle to more than 18 hours based on a 5-5-90 duty cycle; CTCSS and DCS squelch encode/decode means that the series is suitable for community repeater sites allowing secure repeater access via a unique access tone; channel monitoring and monitor lockout means that the GME dealer can now program the radio for the mode that best suits individual requirements.

A range of accessories complements the series including a heavy-duty holster and belt clip for concealed location on the back of the body, single and multiple bay (six pocket) rapid/trickle battery chargers and a dynamic extension speaker microphone.
