VCO synthesiser

01 March, 2006 | Caelera Pty Ltd

The SKY73100 is a fully integrated, high performance signal source for high dynamic range transceivers.

Power transformers

01 March, 2006 | Siemens Ltd

With its E high-power series, Epcos has introduced a family of transformers that can handle extremely high power densities while taking up less space. The EHP 16, for example, can transfer 25 W, twice that of the commonly used EF16 transformer with the same footprint. The latest transformer series comprises four versions: EHP 16 and EHP 19 as SMDs designed for 25 and 35 W, while the EHP5.0 and EHP 26 are leaded components designed to handle 50 and 100 W. The components' space requirements range from 17 x 23.3 mm to 27 x 27.5 mm. The pre-tinned core can be soldered directly to the circuit board, which ensures good heat transfer and improved cooling.

PCB testing

01 March, 2006 | Power Parameters Pty Ltd

By combining electronic and mechanical testing through mounting the board under test in a cantilevered or two-support beam position and subjecting it to an oscillating force, important reliability information can be gained and incipient failure modes; eg, track breakage, SMD and pin joint failures revealed.

Enclosure range grows

01 March, 2006 | Hammond Electronics Pty Ltd

Hammond Electronics has extended its 1551 family of miniature general-purpose ABS enclosures by adding shallower versions of the existing rectangular version, introducing new square plan sizes in two heights and adding flanged lids which are now available for all plan sizes.

Vinyl plugs

01 March, 2006 | StockCap

StockCap has released a range of Plus-Plugs that are made of flexible vinyl incorporating a 360° pull-tab so that they are easier to remove and more adaptable than traditional rigid poly plugs.

GHz digital scope

01 March, 2006 | Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd

Yokogawa Australia has released the DL9000 compact digital oscilloscope, capable of a maximum sampling rate of 10 gigasamples per second at bandwidths of 1-1.5 GHz.

High current inductors

01 February, 2006 | Siemens Ltd

The HPI series of high-power inductors from Epcos covers the inductance range from 0.5 to 3.92 µH and can handle currents up to 30 A. Depending on inductance, insertion height is 4.95 or 5.95 mm for a footprint of 11 x 13.1 mm. Resistance ranges from 1.1 to 6.0 milliohm.

Tracking modules

01 February, 2006 | Monitoring Concepts Pty Ltd

The Track and Trace Module enables the user to remotely track and trace a variety of objects. Its lightweight aluminium design makes it easy to install and together with the extended position logging, it is suitable for use in fleet management, anti-theft and M2M applications. The numerous I/O connections allow monitoring and control of a range of external hardware.

Lithium rechargeable

01 February, 2006 | Ultralife Batteries Australia/NZ

The UBI-2590 lithium ion rechargeable battery from Ultralife, with two independent 15 V sections enables users to operate the battery in either 15 or 30 V mode. Initially developed for rugged defence and security markets, the size, weight and form factor along with total cost offers more capacity per unit volume than nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride chemistries.

50 GHz downconverter

01 February, 2006 | Rohde & Schwarz (Australia) Pty Ltd

Aeroflex has boosted the frequency of the PN9276 microwave downconverter to 50 GHz to enable phase noise testing for higher frequency applications.

Transceiver chip

01 February, 2006 | Richardson Electronics Pty Ltd

Mimix Broadband has introduced a gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) 13/15 GHz chip set that consists of an integrated image reject receiver and transmitter and compact, two-stage power amplifier.
